For the first Little Things Studio giveaway, I’m going to pick FIVE random winners.
They win one of the brand spanking new 2013 YEAR OF SUNSHINE wall calendars (pink or cream – see below) AND a small print of their choice!!!
HOW TO ENTER:
- To enter, please comment below and tell me your favorite Christmas carol (I’m working on Christmas cards and need inspiration).
- Enter the email address you’d like me to contact you with IF you win!
- Contest ends on Saturday, October 20 at noon (central time).
- You must be a facebook fan. I am going to double check to make sure you are a fan!!! If you aren’t, I will randomly draw again a new name.
- You cannot enter more than once. If you comment again, it be counted as invalid.
If you are the winner, I will send you an email on Saturday afternoon to get your mailing address and to wall calendar and small print you picked.
I’m excited to see how this giveaway goes! I am making sure this is as fair to everyone as possible. I’m going to use some kind of random number generator that Dave is going to find for me somewhere on the internet! If this goes smoothly, I might want to do this every year. And I will be putting up the new wall calendars next week! I promise!

Not really a carol per se, but Santa Baby by Eartha Kitt is my favorite!
I have always, always loved “O Holy Night.” I’m pretty sure I just liked singing it opera style as a kid (because of the really high notes at the end). I’ve heard so many beautiful versions of it though, and it’s really powerful when there are a chorus of voices singing it. 🙂
Kate, I love that you are doing this! I was thinking about Christmas music yesterday and I love Carol if the Bells. 🙂 you are so creative and I can’t wait to see Christmas designs!

I really don’t know the names of the Christmas carols… I am not even sure if I like Christmas carols but I do like the Country Christmas station on Pandora 🙂 Like Randy Travis – I think he does Silent Night. Or, even better, Mariah Carey’s version of “All I want for Christmas!”

Christmas carol suggestion: We wish you a merry Christmas
“God rest ye merry, gentlemen” has always been a favorite. But I also like “o holy night”–all the verses.
Roy’s favorite is “oh come oh come Emmanuel.”
I love them all, but “Oh Little Town of Bethlehem” is sweet and “Silent Night” makes me cry, every time. Another favorite is “What Child is This?” or the classic “Joy to the World.” Joy could be a really fun thing to illustrate in the bright colors you love! Oh, I hope I win 🙂
As a child, despite the fact that I am not German at all, I always liked singing “O Tannenbaum” which is the German version of “O Christmas Tree”. I probably butchered all the words, but oh well – it’s the thought that counts!
Those calendars are GORGEOUS!! Last year, I absolutely fell in love with The Wexford Carol, which is an old Irish song. Alison Krauss and Yo-Yo Ma do this gorgeous performance of it that I listen to on repeat all through December!
It doesn’t feel like Christmas to me until the entire church has lit their candles and we all sing “O Holy Night.” It gives me chills just thinking about it.

‘Silent Night’ is my favorite. I didn’t think it could get better until we moved to Germany and started singing it its original German. So awesome!

Nearly all Christmas music makes me want to vomit, but I’ve always had a soft spot for Paul McCartney’s “Wonderful Christmas Time” and John Lennon’s “Happy Christmas.” I also don’t *completely* hate when “I Wish It Was Christmas Today” (from an old SNL sketch) gets stuck in my head.
P.S. I never realized who sung either of those songs & I find it exceedingly coincidental that they’re both Beatles. Thanks for that!
Bruce Springsteen’s “Santa Clause is Comin’ to Town” is my all time favorite. Love the Big Man on the saxophone!
“The First Noel” of course!! Every Christmas, my family buys anything and everything that says “Noel.” All wrapping paper, decorations, and yes, holiday cards must say “Noel”!!

Kate, This is such a great idea and the colors are so exciting. I love just looking at all of your “little things”, you amaze me!! The carol that I love so much is a new one; I heard it last year for the first time and I cry everytime I hear it and watch the video. “Where’s The Line To See Jesus” was sung at our children’s program last year and again with our Choir at their Candle Light In White Christmas program. To be your winner would be super; but for others that have not seen or heard this video would really be a blessing to all. It is about a little boy who goes with his Aunt to the Mall and he sees all the kids in the long lines waiting to see Santa and he looks up at his Aunt and says “I want to see Jesus, Where’s the Line to see Jesus!! Awesome and also very heart tugging for all who know and love God but find ourselves losing touch with what Christmas is all about, “Jesu

Night is a carol. See?? My favorite is “O Little Town of Bethlehem”. Words are so beautiful. “No ear may hear His coming. Yet in this world of sin, where meek souls will receive Him still, our dear Christ enters in”.
